MOST POPULAR POSTS - May, 2019

Every month I make a list of the posts that received the most page views. You can find the posts close to the beginning of the following month.

Traffic on this site was high in May with a lot of posts making it to the top:

1. DFO Does Not Use 'Eveidence and Science' that Doesn't Agree with its Fabricated Story: https://fishfarmnews.blogspot.com/2019/05/dfo-does-not-use-evidence-and-science.html. "Hi Jonathan Wilkinson et al:It is time to stop saying that DFO uses ‘evidence and science.’ When DFO deals with fish farms, it is decidedly not true. DFO uses the story it wants to serve the narrative it has, and ignores science and evidence, or won't test, say for PRV, so it has no evidence against fish farms. Hmm." If you think DFO actually does what it says it does, read this post to find that that is not true. There is also another link in the post that takes you to more cases of refusal to use evidence and science. I have put together at least a dozen cases of not doing science. I could have found a whole lot more, but thought that a dozen was enough to make the point.

2. CERMAQ LICE - Peroxide, SLICE, Paramove 50, Lufenuron, Hydrolicer - Lice Out of Control, Clayoquot Sound: https://fishfarmnews.blogspot.com/2019/05/cermaq-lice-peroxide-slice-paramove-50.html. This is becoming the next place in BC, like the Broughton, where fish farms are going to end up out of the water.

3. Fish Farms Kill Wild Salmonids - Says 'Status of wild Atlantic salmon in Norway 2018':   https://fishfarmnews.blogspot.com/2019/04/fish-farms-kill-wild-salmonids-says.html. The next time fish farms make the false claim that there is no evidence fish farms kill wild salmon, throw this post in their faces.

4. Setting Undercurrent News Straight - Global Fish Farm/Seafood Industry 'Press':
5. ISAV in BC - But DFO, CFIA and BCMAL Can't Find Disease: https://fishfarmnews.blogspot.com/2017/01/isav-in-bc-but-dfo-cfia-and-bcmal-cant.html. This is the classic paper that showed ISA from Europe is in BC. DFO/CFIA tested for the Atlantic Canada variant of ISA. Dumb, because Mowi, Cermaq and Grieg import eggs/smolts from Europe, not Atlantic Canada. Dumb.

6. BAD NEWS BITES: https://fishfarmnews.blogspot.com/2019/05/bad-news-bites-12th-post-moving-toward.html. This post is the 12th I have started, each has 500 problems in the global farmed fish/seafood industry, and when finished will bring the problems that I have found to 5,000. Yes, 5,000.
7. Ethoxyquin - The Slimy Inside Story. This has been one of the biggee posts in terms of page views. Fish farms use E to prevent fish feed blowing up, yes, explosions, and to keep oils from going rancid. This post also details the problems in pet food. You really need to read the Gloria Dodd letter, link at the bottom. She was a vet for decades and figured out that E was causing big problems in our pets, particularly dogs: https://fishfarmnews.blogspot.com/2019/05/ethoxyquin-slimy-inside-story.html.

8. 281 On-land Fish Farm Systems - comprising 20,000 actual, on-land fish farms around the world: https://fishfarmnews.blogspot.com/2016/05/152-different-on-land-fish-farm-systems.html.
Yes, I have found almost 300 on-land systems. When is enough enough for DFO to put fish farms on land?

9. DFO, Salmon and Killer Whales - this is the classic post on this site that cuts to the chase and gives the solution to the problem: much greater freshwater habitat restoration and netpens of sterilized chinook: https://fishfarmnews.blogspot.com/2018/05/dfo-salmon-and-killer-whales.html. Go look at how many chinook used to be in the ocean as recently as the 1960s. DFO is the reason for salmon decline. It has not done its job.

 10. DFO SRKWs and Funding, Yet Again? Yes, Yet Again: https://fishfarmnews.blogspot.com/2019/05/dfo-srkws-and-funding-yet-again-yes-yet.html. This post knocks holes in the new money, and the weasel words used, that make it seem like money is going to habitat, but not much will go the the most important thing: freshwater habitat restoration. In other words, DFO who has been managing wild BC salmon and killer whales (SRKWs) into extinction for the past half century are just going to continue going in the same direction, and finish them off entirely/completely.
