Most Popular Posts - Jan, 2020

Here are the most popular posts on this site in Jan 2020. This site puts the post at the end of the month or the first day of the following month, or so I say. This means that it is very easy to find the most popular posts back to Sept 1, 2016.

This site has a global audience, and on Jan 29, for example, the largest audience is from Russia. Other countries occupy this position on other days, such as Canada, USA, Denmark, Norway, Great Britain, Ukraine, Australia, China, India, France, Netherlands and so on.

So, here are the posts:

1. Jobs and Revenue? Hasta la Vista In-ocean Fish Farmshttp://fishfarmnews.blogspot.com/2019/12/jobs-and-revenue-hasta-la-vista-fish.html. This post explodes the myth that in-[ocean fish farms are about jobs and revenue. It notes the government's own stats are way below the ones fish farms dream up. And revenue largely goes back to Norway to shareholders, and that jobs will decline drastically, as the Milewski article notes.

2. Escape of Non-native Salmon - Farm Phase Out Planhttp://fishfarmnews.blogspot.com/2019/12/escape-of-non-native-salmon-farm-phase.html. While fish farms and DFO say farmed fish can't escape, etc., I show John Volpe's work - that DFO is well aware of - shows that 153,000 fish leak out each crop and spawn in Van Isle rivers.

3. Fish Farms Kill Wild Salmonids, Says Status of Wild Salmon in Norway 2018. This is a major new report:  http://fishfarmnews.blogspot.com/2019/04/fish-farms-kill-wild-salmonids-says.html. This post has been a well-viewed one for the past 10 months.

4. Atlantic Salmon Breed in BC Rivers - Tsitika, John Volpe, Economic Stats: http://fishfarmnews.blogspot.com/2017/09/atlantic-salmon-breed-in-bc-rivers.html. This is Volpe's most important paper on the problem in BC. You should read this one.

5. Escapes! Escapes!http://fishfarmnews.blogspot.com/2020/01/escapes-escapes.html. This one lists the catastrophes in fish escapes that happens all around the world, and often one or more escape events per week, it's that bad.

6. Most Stringent Laws in the World: http://fishfarmnews.blogspot.com/2013/12/most-stringent-fish-farm-laws-in-world.html. Fish farms like to claim they operate under the strictest laws in the world in every country in which they operate. This is categorically false because every country's laws are different.

7. BAD NEWS BITES - this one brings the problems I have found in the fish farm/seafood industry to 5,500 problems in the last several years. Hard to believe, yet true: http://fishfarmnews.blogspot.com/2019/09/bad-news-bites-post-13.html.

8. Dead Zones - Oceans at Critical Crossroads - Fish Farm and Other Pollution Must Stop:       http://fishfarmnews.blogspot.com/2020/01/dead-zones-oceans-at-critical.html. This one is the most scary post in a long time, as the oceans are absorbing the equivalent of pollution of five Hiroshima bombs every second. You must read this and call on governments to stop in-ocean fish farms.
