CHEK on Grieg's False Claim

Hi Dean Stoltz

Re your Feb 10 story on what Grieg says is a fantastic, completely new invention: its semi-closed fish farm that the sides can be lowered or raised;

Here is the real story: this kind of thing, lowering nets, is nothing new, and the same amount of sewage falls out everyday, as well as diseases.

Furthermore, Grieg didn’t tell you that it is putting together a fully closed in ocean unit in Norway, so what is happening in BC is nothing new, and you have to ground proof everything they tell you.

Here is a link to the ‘closed’ system Grieg is doing in Norway: https://www.intrafish.com/technology/grieg-seafood-teams-with-fishglobe-for-30-000-cubic-meter-self-contained-fish-farm/2-1-1166796?utm_source=email_campaign. (As water needs to be let into the site and let out, for oxygen reasons, no fish farm can be fully closed).

This means that what it is telling you here in BC is false, and it knows it’s false, even though it tells you it’s a fantastic new thing.

Please do a little ground proofing when fish farms claim something is new. And I notice that they are still using that old chestnut that wild salmon give farmed salmon lice. Ridiculous. Lice are in the ocean and fish farms vastly increase their numbers.

Should you need someone to ground proof what fish farms say, send me an email. I am typically at my computer everyday as I am a writer. And you can look at my fish farm website. Everything has references: https://fishfarmnews.blogspot.com/.
